Asha Alaji-Sharif

                                     is a sophomore Graphic Design major from Atlanta by way of Cleveland, Ohio. From a very young age her parents knew she had a niche for creativity and self-expression through art. Theatre and dance has defined most of her life, but she fell in love with the camera. Asha began creating content in 2011 with stop-motion animation and later switched to a Lifestyle channel in 2014 which has gained 2,000 subscribers and over 150,000 views. Directing, writing and producing a documentary is something she never imagined doing. She would like to thank Nadirah and US Premiere for giving her the opportunity to create The New Black and the cast and crew for making her vision a reality.
